"It is our intention that the results be used to increase the willingness to invest in training, up-skilling and assessment and that they significantly impact upon the learning culture across our networks."
Following successful completion of the recent round of ROI studies, The IMI carried out a series of post-study interviews with senior management from each partner organisation. Like the studies themselves, the interviews make compelling reading.
Mercedes-Benz IMI Accreditation return on investment interview:
1. Further to the recent ROI study about IMI Accreditation involving your organisation, what are your thoughts about the findings?
"They were very encouraging and reinforced our belief in the value of IMI Accreditation. They have given us a very powerful message to deliver to our networks and will help us convince them to invest in their people."
2. In your opinion, does developing and training your employees impact positively upon the performance of the business ? Can you give examples ?
"There is no doubt in my mind that training and development of people has a positive effect on the business. The recent ROI study clearly concludes that there is a positive correlation between IMI Accreditation and customer retention. Furthermore, I am currently recommending that it be made mandatory that every Customer Service Advisor be C-service trained in order to attain IMI Accreditation".
3. How important has IMI Accreditation been to your organisation ?
"IMI Accreditation has been the catalyst to revise our existing training programme and has enabled us to raise the level of competence expected of our service advisors as a result of the training".
4. Have the results of the recent ROI study had an impact upon your organisation's investment in training, up-skilling and assessment?
"It is our intention that the results be used to increase the willingness to invest in training, up-skilling and assessment and that they significantly impact upon the learning culture across our networks."
5. Going forward, do you plan to reduce, maintain or increase your investment in staff development ?
"Going forward, the recommendation to our networks is to increase investment in the C-Service programme leading to IMI Accreditation. After all, we are simply recommending staff development in order to enjoy benefits to the business - why would anybody not want that? ".
